ASPHO is the only professional organization uniquely dedicated to the professional development and interests of sub-specialists in pediatric hematology/oncology. The society serves the needs of more than 1,600 members by working to actively advance programs and initiatives in professional education, scientific and clinical research, training and practice issues.

Both ASPHO's annual meeting and its journal, Pediatric Blood & Cancer, provide a forum for presenting research to colleagues and peers. As an ASPHO member, you will have an opportunity to make a difference with your personal involvement.

Pediatric Blood & Cancer is the official journal of ASPHO. Published monthly, it includes manuscripts describing basic and clinical investigations of blood disorders and malignant diseases of childhood, including diagnosis, treatment, epidemiology, etiology, biology, and molecular and clinical genetics of these diseases as they affect children, adolescents, and young adults. Studies on treatment options such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, immunology, and gene therapy are also be included.



An Annual Meeting discount on the registration fee in provided to members. The annual meeting offers educational programs on the most up-to-date treatment techniques and therapies, including the latest research reports on cutting-edge issues.

The ASPHO Review Course is designed for physicians planning to take the American Board of Pediatrics examination for initial certification pediatric hematology/oncology, as well as for those preparing for Part III of the ABP's Program for Maintenance of Certification in the Pediatric Subspecialties (formerly know as the recertification exam). The course is also beneficial for fellow in training and pediatric practitioners who wish to review both the established standards of care and recent basic and clinical advances in pediatric hematology/oncology.

The ASPHO Online Review Course in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is a great way to prepare either for your initial ABP Certification Exam or for Part III of the ABP Maintenance of Certification program. Experts in the field present twenty-two hour long lectures, featuring synchronized audio and slides. 

The ASPHO eNewsletter provides current news and information of interest to members bimonthly. Timely alerts are also sent to members that include important announcements. 

The online Find a Member resource allows members to locate and communicate with one another. Members also receive an annual printed Membership Directory to connect with other professionals working in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology.

Membership in ASPHO is an excellent opportunity to increase your network of peers and expand your professional practice.
